shamanic-careIn shamanism, everything has a spirit: every person, animal, tree, flower, rock, stream and ocean – even the earth. The shaman can communicate with all spirits, good or bad and must determine with which minds work. Traditional shamans must learn to “control” the minds: they must be tamed and domesticated so that they work for the shaman, this is not an approach to be taken lightly and it requires many years of apprenticeship with one or more traditional shamans.

My approach is to work with the spirits of equals and with total respect. The concept that everything has a spirit is known as animism and is considered by many to be the ancestor of all religions. For many people, the word mind has a religious connotation and can even be repulsive. When we speak of shamanic cultures, the meaning of ‘spirit’ is clearly what we think, be a form of super-natural. It’s more of a spiritual belief that a religious belief and it is a way of life for the shamanistic cultures. For me, the distinction is clear between spiritual and religious – I consider myself very spiritual and somewhat non-religious. The fact is that for many people, when we make a spiritual care, we work with energies, energies that science has not yet understood. We do not have to be religious: the spiritual care work for atheists like the fervent believers!

The shaman can see when the mind falls ill, the health of physics is always connected to the health of mind, so all physical illnesses have a spiritual cause. This is especially true for people:

  • The mind can experience a lack of energy because of poor connections between the human and spirit helpers and power animals.
  • The mind can be affected by an intruder, or something that is not natural for the mind: when the mind is weak, it can not easily resist these intrusions that occur rapidly in physical form. An intrusion is like an infection of the mind, like a tumor.
  • In some cases, intrusion can be a pest, such as a spiritual entity. The entity can be there for “good” reasons or simply to do harm, but in most cases, the presence of an entity is neither good for the mind that receives or the mind parasite. The only exception is especially bad is when the entity itself is inherently evil – a dark spirit or a demon – an entity becomes stronger by draining the life force of the mind that receives it until this spirit can survive.
  • The process for removing an entity is generally known under the term “taking” or “forfeiture”. It can also be called “exorcism” although this is normally reserved for the more technical Catholic (which itself has declined dramatically over the past 1,000 years). Shamanic is a dangerous technique that can lead to possession of the shaman by the entity if the act is not done with extreme competence.
  • Shamanic care to treat an intrusion is called “extraction”
  • There may be “holes” in the mind, comparable to an abscess. These occur when the mind loses soul shards or fragments that are forcibly removed.
  • Care to treat a shamanic fragmented soul is called soul retrieval. “

With the help of the Spirit and / or spirits, the shaman heals mentally spirit or soul of the person, bringing a harmonious balance between the mental, physical and spiritual.
