Meditation Getting to the Truth

Picture the word that is most applicable to the problem you now have, and see it clearly in huge block letters marked on a door. Pick the door carefully and note the details of it. Perhaps it is an ornately carved antique door or it is a very simple wooden or painted door. Now see the word you’ve chosen standing out clearly on that door.

Very gently open that door and look in front of you, to the left and to the right to see what is there, just as you would if you went into a room you had never been in before. Continue Reading »

Creating Your Own Meditation

I receive requests for more written meditations frequently. While I do plan to write up some new ones quite soon, the last time I received this request I wrote the following in response. I feel it may help others to know how to write their own meditation. Remember that meditations you write will work better than any written by someone else.

Consider your favorite place, or somewhere you’d like to be that has a lot to interest you and would keep your mind busy. Make sure you are comfortable, and take a few deep breaths. Take yourself to that place. Imagine all the things you would see and respond to them just as if it were real life, meet people and create scenarios. Rather than having an unorganized array of disconnected thoughts, you can concentrate on the scene. As you get deeper into the meditation you will find the scenery and schemes simplifying until you are basically “gone” with the meditation. You can even make a tape recording to guide you on a meditation journey. One can also use this method to go somewhere to find an answer- this would again require personal devising. Children and NDEs

Many children who’ve had near-death experiences have spiritual guides and specific goals that stay with them throughout their adult lives.

Children describe angels, Light Beings, other spiritual entities and even voices guiding them through their brief journeys into the beyond.

Many of them say they were given a special mission to perform when they returned to this world, according to Brad Steiger and Sherry Hansen Steiger, authors of Children of the Light (Signet, New York, 1995). Continue Reading »

The First Priority of Humankind…

…Those of us who are living today can influence the future of civilization. We can influence whether our planet will drift into chaos and violence, or whether through a monumental educational and political effort we will achieve a world of peace under a system of law where individual violators of that law are brought to justice. The Intuitive Child

Many of us feel instinctively that newborn babies come into the world “trailing clouds of glory” as William Wordsworth put it — if not memories of a higher plane, at least an innocent openness and capacity for intuitive knowledge. Like Wordsworth, we sense that “heaven lies about us in our infancy.” As parents and caregivers, we want to help our children maintain the buoyant sense of well-being that results from this direct connection to their own souls and inner wisdom. But too often, as children grow up, the connection to this inner realm is lost. Continue Reading »

Unconditional Cheerfulness:The Way Out of Early Morning Depression

Everybody possesses that unconditioned possibility of cheerfulness, which is not connected purely with either pain or pleasure. You have an inclination: in the flash of one second you feel what needs to be done. It is not a product of your education; it is not scientific or logical; you simply pick up on the message. And then you act: you just do it. That basic human quality of suddenly opening up is the best part of human instinct. You know what to do right away, on the spot — which is fantastic. That is what we call the dot, or basic goodness and unconditional instinct. When you have an instinct of the real instinct, you don’t think: you just feel, on the spot. Basic trust is knowing that there is such a thing as that spark of basic goodness. Although you might be in the worst of the worst shape, still that goodness does exist… Continue Reading »
