Outercast is popular among authors. Unfortunately we also need buyers of Outercast. We want to continue publishing quality stories with a great variety.

Outercast is an independent literary
magazine based in Sweden that’s not depending on commercial interests.
We are small and we like it that way. Small is beautiful. We encourage
participation in culture by all people in society who have an own voice
and are not part of the status quo.

Reading
a story should make you forget the whole world around you. Our magazine
has a traditional format with no advertising. Reading from paper is a
totally different experience than reading from your screen. However, we
do use modern technology to achieve our goal.
We don’t make any money for ourselves with Outercast. Everything goes
to the production, promotion, authors and charity.

When
we started until the point we are now, we have learned a lot. We had
some unprecedented internet problems during the second issue, which
resulted in a drop of readers. It’s difficult to be ‘out there’ and
getting attention in a commercially dominated society. We’re an
outcast, even more, we’re Outercast.
